Mindfulness and Compassion Training
Compassion-Based Resilience Training (CBRT)
Nalanda Institute’s CBRT is an 8-week evidence-based modular training that teaches the science and skills people need to reduce stress, build resilience, and cultivate lives of well-being, engagement, and purpose in our ever more interdependent world. This course is for anyone seeking a comprehensive training method for building resilience, living mindfully and compassionately, cultivating well-being and transforming stress. Resilience is a capacity to bounce back from stress, based on mindfulness and compassion. This course supports a life of resilience and thriving. The CBRT was designed by Nalanda’s founder and director, Joe Loizzo, MD, PhD.
Mindfulness Courses
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
MBSR is a group-based 8-week course (plus one week for orientation), in which participants learn to relate differently to stress, develop self-awareness and cultivate kind attention and equanimity; through the practice of mindfulness. An evidence-based approach trusted worldwide, MBSR systematically introduces mindfulness meditation and gentle movement. You’ll explore techniques to lessen the impacts of stress, chronic pain, and daily pressures, ultimately enhancing your capacity to meet life’s obstacles with clarity and calm.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
MBCT is a group-based 8-week course (plus one week for orientation), in which participants learn to recognize and related differently to patterns of mind that tend to lead to negative ways of thinking. Through the practice of mindfulness and cognitive therapy exercises, participants learn to observe their moment-to-moment experience in the mind and body, exploring automatic patterns of thinking and feeling with a focus on kindness and care for wellbeing. This course is open to everyone, and particularly beneficial for those dealing with recurring stress or anxiety, offering practical tools to foster resilience and greater emotional well-being.
Introducing Mindfulness
Introducing Mindfulness is a 3-week course developed by Oxford Mindfulness, offering a brief yet meaningful introduction to mindfulness practice and theory. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to reconnect with their mindfulness practice, this course explores key mindfulness themes and practical techniques that can support you in everyday life and work.
Discover how brief moments of mindfulness can foster greater calm, clarity, and wellbeing—whether you’re brand-new to this journey or looking to deepen your practice.
